Kalender akademik Program MPSA dirancang dengan 24 (dua puluh empat bulan) waktu pendidikan, terdiri atas 4 semester. Tiga semester pertama diberikan kuliah, latihan-latihan, tugas-tugas dan studi mandiri (pra tesis), sedangkan 1 semester digunakan untuk penyelesaian tesis secara intensif.
Pada kalender akademik tersebut terdapat waktu atau masa kuliah selama 14 sampai dengan 16 minggu. Setelah masa kuliah 7 minggu (7 kali pertemuan), dilaksanakan ujian mid term (ujian sisipan). Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kuliah paruh kedua selama 7 minggu (7 kali pertemuan) diteruskan dengan masa minggu tenang yang dijadwalkan selama seminggu, masa ujian dan kemudian terdapat libur trimester selama satu minggu.

Calon yang dapat diterima sebagai mahasiswa Program MPSA adalah merek yang memenuhi persyaratan sebagai berikut :
- Berijasah Sarjana S1 (Teknik, Pertanian, Kehutanan, Perikanan, Geografi, Ilmu Lingkungan atau yang relevan) dengan IPK minimal 2.75
- Mempunyai nilai TOEFL minimal 450 dan nilai Tes Potensi Akademik (TPA) minimal 500. (Apabila belum memiliki nilai TOEFL dan TPA dapat ikut tes pada saat pendaftaran).
- Membayar uang pendaftaran dan seleksi sebesar Rp. 500.000,00
- Mengisi dan menyerahkan formulir pendaftaran dengan melampirkan :
- fotokopi ijasah dan atau transkrip akademik yang telah dilegalisir,
- pasfoto enam bulan terakhir 2x3, 3x4 ,4x6 cm @ 6 buah,
- daftar riwayat hidup (curiculum vitae),
- surat penugasan belajar dari instansi yang bersangkutan.
5. Lulus ujian seleksi (tes tertulis dan wawancara) yang diselenggarakan oleh Program MPSA.
