Masing-masing nilai huruf tersebut mempunyai bobot angka (harkat numerik) 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. Namun demikian untuk ujian-ujian sisipan dan tau ujian yang lain (bukan nilai akhir), dosen dapat menggunakan nilai dengan +, atau -, atau dengan angka. Disamping itu digunakan juga nilai K dan T atau I. Nilai K berarti kosong atau tidak ada nilai, data nilai kurang lengkap karena mahasiswa yang bersangkutan mengundurkan diri secara sah. Nilai T atau I (incomplete) berarti tidak lengkap, data nilai kurang lengkap karena belum semua tugas diselesaikan pada waktunya atas ijin pengajar yang bersangkutan. Cara menghitung IP adalah sebagai berikut : Mahasiswa yang dinyatakan lulus Program Pascasarjana menerima predikat kelulusan sebagai berikut : IP > 3,75 : predikat dengan pujian (cum laude) 3,75 > IP > 3,25: predikat sangat memuaskan 3,25 > IP > 2,75: predikat memuaskan Predikat kelulusan dengan pujian (cumlaude) hanya diberikan kepada mahasiswa yang dapat menyelesaikan beban studinya tepat waktu (satu setengah masa studi).
