Strict Standards: Non-static method HTML_content::TOC() should not be called statically in /home2/mpsa/public_html/components/com_content/content.html.php on line 525 Agar seorang lulusan program pendidikan pascasarjana (S2) dapat melakukan penelitian pengembangan dalam rangka peningkatan pelayanan profesi, maka sekolah Pascasarjana UGM menganjurkan agar tiap mahasiswa menyusun thesis yang didasarkan atas penelitian yang mandiri. Mahasiswa diwajibkan untuk menulis thesis dengan melakukan penelitian orisinal dalam bidang sesuai dengan minat studi nya. Dalam proses penyusunan thesis mahasiswa diwajibkan untuk melakukan 3 kali seminar. Pertama, seminar proposal tesis di awal pengerjaan tesis, yang dilaksanakan pada minggu kedua Trimester II. Dalam seminar ini mahasiswa diminta mempresentasikan rencana penelitian di depan pembimbing tesis dan ditanggapi oleh peserta seminar. Kedua, seminar kemajuan (proress report) yang dilaksanakan pada akhir trimester III (setelah mahasiswa menyelesaikan seluruh teori). Pada seminar ini mahasiswa mempresentasikan hasil penelitian sementara. Seminar ini bertujuan untuk memantau sejauh mana mahasiswa telah berhasil melaksanakan/mengerjakan tesisnya. Ketiga, seminar hasil (penelitian) tesis sebelum ujian pendadaran tesis dilakukan. Setelah seminar akhir mahasiswa mempersiapkan ujian pendadaran tesis dengan ditunjuknya dosen penguji tesis. Sebagai syarat seminar tesis akhir, mahasiswa diwajibkan telah menghadiri seminar yang ada di program S2 minimal 20 kali. Setelah seorang mahasiswa selesai menyusun tesis, dan yang bersangkutan telah lulus menempuh semua ujian mata kuliah yang diwajibkan serta telah memperoleh sertifikat kemampuan bahasa Inggris tingkat intermediate dari Pusat Pelatihan Bahasa UGM, atau score TOEFL minimal 400, maka mahasiswa tersebut berhak untuk mengikuti ujian tesis. Ujian tesis dilaksanakan oleh Tim Penguji yang terdiri atas tim pembimbing tesis dan dosen lain yang ditunjuk. Ujian tesis dapat dilaksanakan sesudah mahasiswa memperoleh persetujuan dari tim dosen pembimbing tesis. Jumlah anggota tim penguji adalah 3 orang dengan komposisi : Ketua Tim Penguji : Dosen Pembimbing Utama Anggota Tim Penguji I : Dosen Pemmbimbing Pendamping Anggota Tim Penguji II : diusulkan oleh dosen pembimbing dan di setujui oleh pengelola program MPSA
